I just thought of this simple but seemingly neglected by many . . . . when was the last time you opened the hood and with a soft brush attachment carefully vacuum around the fans, and intake(including the filter)/outtakes. If this has not been done in awhile --- overheating will do weird things including a complete meltdown occasionally (they say).
I posted then reread your mention of the beeping, which kind ah reminds me of something so ... using "computer annoying beep, or sometimes a quick double beep " as keywords into google.ca search field acquired a few 'articles' and quite a few do lean towards overheating. And maybe these are items you have already tried !

p.s. during my reno' of my VPCEL', I stripped off avg' (it was getting intrusive) and spybot'.. replacing them with MSE for a AV(on Win7pro platform). https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/14210/security-essentials-download
I am contemplating (based on a article recommending a AV/malware combo, which i can't find tonight) loading on your mentioned, 'malware bytes(free)', which is said to suffice as a operator induced checker that doesn't conflict with majority of AV software.
